ALAMANCE COMMUNITY COLLEGE:
Persons interested in taking the GED tests must first complete a Student Success Orientation to determine if they are ready or need some preparatory coursework. Prep courses and materials are free, but test charge is $7.50 per exam. Alamance Community College offers courses and testing on main campus in Graham, NC, the Burlington Adult Education Center, over 60 churches and sites in Alamance County, or online.

DURHAM TECHNICAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE:
Students may take courses to prepare for the battery of official GED tests. Courses are offered in traditional classroom and lab settings as well as online. In some settings, students are able to work at their own pace. Students must pay a one-time fee of $25 before taking the official GED tests.
Prospective students entering ABE, AHSD, and GED classes must attend a structured orientation that consists of a series of two-week workshops. Placement testing is included as part of the orientation process.
Durham Tech also has testing locations in Chapel Hill and Hillsborough, or you can take the test completely online.

WAKE TECHNICAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE:
Wake Tech offers Pre-GED courses and GED testing at dozens of Wake County middle schools, high schools, community centers, and churches. Some locations offer free childcare. You may also choose to study for and take the GED Exam completely online. Courses and materials are free, but registration in person is required at the Adult Education center address listed below and there is a charge for the final examination.
